If you use high screw speed and backpressure, it would be possible to ensure more increased agitation, which will ensure that the purging compound’s cleaning capability has an enhancement. On the other hand, if you maintain the screw in a forward position, it will ensure that the agitation of the screw and that of the purging compound stays centred on the machine’s front end. Nozzle cleaning

You must have noticed that mixing nozzles are areas where colour and degraded material hang up; this method of purging will allow you to clean those areas.
Shutdowns
You must be performing regular and preventative-maintenance purging. We recommend using a heat-stable purging compound before temporary or lengthy shutdowns and sealing. When the machine is not functional, air and oxygen in the barrel can cause the residual polymer to degrade and carbonise. This will lead to delayed startups, and you will face the disadvantages of machine downtime and scrap. However, heat-stable purging compounds will not degrade. Moreover, it will develop an “airtight” environment in the barrel and will also help future cleaning during the shutdown.
